David Duchovny and wife Tea Leoni separate again - Yahoo! News

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor David Duchovny, who once admitted an addiction to sex, and his wife Tea Leoni have separated again, his spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

Duchovny and Leoni, who have been married since 1997, previously separated in 2008, the same year he sought treatment for sex addiction.

Their latest separation was confirmed by Duchovny's publicist, Flo Grace. It was unclear when they split up.

The 50 year-old Duchovny plays a sex-mad writer on Showtime cable drama "Californication," after previously starring in 1990s hit drama "The X-Files."

Leoni's film roles include "Spanglish" and "The Family Man." She has two children with Duchovny.

Judge orders Sheen wages docked for child support - Yahoo! News

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A judge has ordered Charlie Sheen's former bosses to garnish $55,000 a month for child support from any payments they make to the former "Two and a Half Men" star.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Hank Goldberg on Friday approved a request by Brooke Mueller Sheen to garnish any payments Warner Bros. Television makes to her ex-husband.

The former couple was divorced on May 2, about two months after Warner Bros' fired Sheen from "Men." The actor and the studio have been fighting over payments ever since.

The hefty monthly payments are intended to support the Sheens' twin sons and were part of a divorce settlement they reached earlier this year.

The actor's spokesman Larry Solters declined to comment. Brooke Sheen's attorney did not immediately return a phone message.

'Brigadoon' star Elaine Stewart dies at 81 - Yahoo! News

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Elaine Stewart, a leading lady in a series of films in the 1950s, including "Brigadoon," and star of the 1970s game shows "Gambit" and "High Rollers," has died. She was 81.

Her agent Fred Wostbrock told the Los Angeles Times that Stewart died Monday at her home in Beverly Hills after a long illness.

Stewart was born Elsy Steinberg. Her first starring role came in the 1953 crime drama "Code Two." She also appeared in the films "The Adventures of Hajji Baba," ''The Tattered Dress" and "Night Passage."

In the 1960s, she was in several TV shows including "Bat Masterson," ''Burke's Law" and "Perry Mason."

Stewart is survived by her husband, the game show producer Merrill Heatter, and two children.

In court Wednesday on charges of anti-Semitic behavior, after a series of outbursts to strangers that prompted Dior to fire him in March as its creative director, Galliano said an addiction to drugs and drinks had left him out of control.

New York Public Library buys Timothy Leary papers - Yahoo! News

NEW YORK – The New York Public Library has acquired the papers of LSD guru Timothy Leary, who coined the phrase "turn on, tune in, drop out."

The library will announce Thursday that it has purchased 335 boxes of papers, videotapes, photographs and other items from the estate of Leary, who died in 1996.

Leary was a Harvard professor who became notorious for advocating the therapeutic use of psychedelic drugs. President Richard Nixon called Leary "the most dangerous man in America."

A trustee of Leary's estate tells The New York Times that the library paid $900,000 for the papers. Some of the money will be donated back to pay for the processing of the materials.

The collection includes letters from figures such as Allen Ginsberg, Ken Kesey, G. Gordon Liddy and Cary Grant.

Sony seeks to block access to Jackson outtakes - Yahoo! News

LOS ANGELES – Attorneys for Michael Jackson's doctor want access to raw footage that was used for the star's posthumous concert film, "This is It." But Sony Pictures is fighting the request.

Lawyers for Dr. Conrad Murray and Sony attorneys are due in court Thursday to argue whether material should be turned over. The Sony team has filed hundreds of pages of documents arguing against the release.

Prosecutors plan to use clips from "This is It" to show Jackson was in good health just before he died. The defense wants to show otherwise. They want to see over 100 hours of raw footage of Jackson's concert rehearsals.

Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol and other sedatives. His trial is set for September.

NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. stocks opened little changed on Thursday as economic data gave some respite to investors worried that the lack of a deal on how to handle the Greek debt crisis could trigger disorderly market moves and crimp liquidity.

The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI) was down 10.82 points, or 0.09 percent, at 11,886.45. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index (.SPX) was down 0.19 points, or 0.02 percent, at 1,265.23. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) was down 3.79 points, or 0.14 percent, at 2,627.67.
